• Reduce the chance of malware encrypting all your files by :
  1. Blocking malware at the firewall
  2. Keep anti-malware software on desktops up-to-date
• Ensure you can restore your data (quickly) if it gets encrypted :
  1. Take frequent backups – Daily, Weekly or even hourly if necessary
  2. Ensure the backup files can’t be reached by malware (easily overlooked)
  3. Be able to restore to multiple points over the last hours, days, weeks and months
  4. Check your backups worked!
• Educate your staff not to click on suspicious links in email or whilst web browsing
